Unexpected Pleasures

sunset from a snowy beach

Life’s throwing a few things at us right now. Amidst the constant change and surprise in our lives, it’s good to notice the unexpected pleasures. These are the good things around us, waiting to be noticed, noted and appreciated.

Make a note of the ones you notice. You’ll start noticing more of them and appreciating them even more.

Here’s mine this week:

Snow that hangs around (rare in these parts!)
Two good conversations on future work.
The prospect of some upcoming 6am virtual sessions.
A delegate in Abu Dhabi saying it was a ‘cool’ 20 degrees!
Walking the dogs today and saying it was warmer (only -10C today!).
Everton beating Spurs 5-4!
A surprise phone conversation, which delayed our walk, which meant we were out to see this sunset……

Harness your unexpected pleasures. They’re an untapped source of joy, waiting to be noticed and enjoyed.
