Unexpected Pleasures

So far, this summer has brought plenty of unexpected pleasures. Our garden has a bumper crop of berries, including an out-of-nowhere supply of white berries. We were introduced to Misty, who is now a loving and loved part of our family. I recently had the pleasure of my first in-person meeting for over two years, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Work has kept flowing in, including a succession of last-minute bookings.

Last week I had three days ‘off’, plus two days of relatively light delivery. We finished the week with today’s trip to our local beachside cafe for a wonderful lunch of Ardshealach smoked salmon and salad.

While it has been a summer of challenges, where we’ve used plenty of stoicism, it is important to be ready for and to enjoy the unexpected pleasures. Notice them, take them and enjoy them. They see us through our tougher times and remind us of life’s possibilities…
