Progress

It is good to feel a sense of progress. Research from Amabile shows that we become significantly more motivated when we experience it.

How can we build this sense of progress?

Whenever we make a change, start a new project or role, it is helpful to consider any quick wins we may achieve. By identifying them, recognising and celebrating them, we can increase our motivation, spurring ourselves on towards our next stage of progress.

After a challenging six weeks, things are progressing here. The weather is better, we have picked our first crop of summer berries, completed work on the house and there are more work projects on the go. Most importantly, Misty is settling in as if she has been with us for years.

We can all make progress. The key is to plan, anticipate and celebrate it. And the only comparison to make is with the point where you started.
