Contrast

sunrise over a loch and misty mountains seen through the train window

I did some things for the first time in almost three years yesterday. I put on a suit (still fitted well!), wore the shoes my wife bought for my 2020 birthday (smart, comfy, need breaking in!) and took the train to Glasgow for a meeting.

I enjoyed the contrast of the sunrise over Loch Insh and the Highland landscape with the bustle of the city. Another contrast was the sound of the seagulls at home with the top-notch buskers of Buchanan Street.

My virtual work is my well-loved bread and butter. It was a pleasant contrast to have a face to face meeting with good, generous company – lunch was gratefully enjoyed!

Contrasts keep us thinking and evolving. They give us more to enjoy and help us find more from what we call normal.

Seek them out and have fun with them!
