A long time ago, someone told me about something called The Abundance Mindset, the idea that there is enough in the world for all of us.

I thought it was idealistic nonsense, until I realised that when you start the habit of getting the most from your personal resources and what is available around you, you can do more, enjoy more and anticipate more.

We ended a busy week by going to the same place as the week before. We walked a bit longer, higher and lower. It gave us a deeper connection with the place, just us and nature. The picnic in the deserted car park was lovely too, as the breeze blew the midges away.

The great paradox about abundance is that when you approach tougher times, you have a better idea of what you have, how to use it and where to find that bit extra.

It also helps you appreciate what you have.
